Summer of Sports Fun

Students experienced a summer of sports fun, with Sports Day & Athletics Borough Championships

Friday 21st June saw the return of our annual KS3 Sports Day after an unfortunate rained off event last year. The sun was shining, and the girls were ready! All students took part in at least one event, such as: 100m, 800m, relay, high jump, javelin, agility run, Boccia and many more.

The day was exciting for everyone, especially for the relays at the end, including the staff race.

We also had some record breakers on the day:

  • Victoria O 8.4: 200m in 28.06! Previous record 28.43 in 2014

  • Deborah A 9-1: 200m in 12.58. Previous record 12.74 in 2022.

  • Chancey B 8-1: 21m in Javelin. Previous record 18.94 in 2016

  • Jade-Alexis M 8-6: 1.30m in High Jump. Previous record 1.27m in 2015

Not only were our students outperforming, we also had our Year 12 cohort assisting on events and helping with the different forms. We were particularly proud of our Yr 10 and 11 Sports Leaders who volunteered to help on the day, and took on every job from running bibs back and forth, communicating over the radio to running events and finally competing (and winning) in the staff relay.

Form Winners for Sports Day 2024:

  • Yr 7: 7.2 & 7.6
  • Yr 8: 8.6
  • Yr 9: 9.4

Athletics Borough Championships

Over the past few weeks, St. Anne’s students have been competing in the Athletics Borough Championships, and we are really pleased with the results. This is how we performed versus all schools in the Borough!

  • Year 7: Joint 1st
  • Year 8: 2nd
  • Year 9: 3rd
  • Seniors: 1st

Well Done Everyone.
