A group of Year 12 geography students visited Epping Forest Field Centre in Essex.
The purpose was to carry out an investigation to assess the level of flood risk in the local area. Students learnt how to carry out weather recordings and readings from a weather station based at the centre.
They also visited a range of flood defence schemes in the area and carried out a flood risk assessment. They even got to see the boutique shop that is used in the reality programme, The Only Way is Essex. Despite bitter biting wind and the no sighting of Joey Essex the students persevered. Maybe next time they will take Mr. Sikaude’s advice and bring warmer clothing!
